ERTL(W), Mumbai

Electronics Regional Test Laboratory (West), ERTL(W), Mumbai, was set-up under Standardization, Testing & Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, Department of Electronics and Information Technology(DEIT), Ministry of Communication & Information technology, Govt. of India, in the year 1985 as one of the national institutes to fulfill the needs of Indian industries with regard to Test, Calibration, Training  & Quality Improvement   services. The laboratory presently situated at MIDC industrial area, Andheri (E) is well equipped with state–of-art- facilities dedicated, professionally qualified & trained scientists / engineers.

The Quality System of the laboratory complies with international Standard ISO/IEC- 17025:2005 and has received a number of National and International accreditations.

The laboratory services have enabled customers to improve their product quality and reliability which enhanced their domestic and export market share. Client range varies from typical small-scale industries to multinationals. Though, primary objective of the laboratory is to serve industries from western region, units from all over the country have been availing of specialized testing & quality services of the laboratory. The transparent working system of the laboratory has made it possible for the industries to have simpler, quicker & effective interaction. We also undertake onsite testing/ calibration jobs for various clients.

Recognitions / Accreditations

ERTL(W) Mumbai has both International & National accreditations /recognitions in the area of Testing and Calibration. The International accreditations /recognitions include IECEE (Geneva) for CB Safety Testing Facilities (Fuses & Fuse Holders, Switches, RF suppression capacitors, Audio, Video & similar electronic apparatus and Information technology equipments). The laboratory also provides inspection services for VDE – Germany. Accredited as ITL (Independent Test Laboratory) for Component Testing by IECQ (Geneva).

The laboratory is approved for testing and certification of products for ‘S’ Mark and 'EMC’ Mark by STQC Directorate, Department of IT, Govt. of India.

The laboratory is approved by BIS for testing of Dry Cell Batteries, Energy Meters, Electronic Ballast, panel meters, Servo controlled voltage stabilizers etc.

NABL

The laboratory has Calibration facilities that are accredited to NABL as per the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. The NABL certificates along-with detailed facilities accredited are given in the table.
