Citizen's Charter

The Citizen's Charter embodies the commitment of the STQC Directorate, Department of Electronics and Information Technology(DeitY), to introduce a greater measure of transparency, responsiveness and accountability in functioning of the Directorate. The STQC Directorate is committed to provide its services in the fields of Testing, Calibration, Certification, IT and e-Governance, training and guidance to Information Technology, Telecommunications and Electronics Industry etc. STQC Directorate, Department of Information Technology in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is responsible for dissemination of above mentioned services globally.

In order to operationalise the objectives of the Directorate, the schemes are formulated and implemented by the Department. The schemes are implemented directly by the Department and through the organizations / institutions under its jurisdiction. To make the services of STQC technology robust and state-of-the-art, the collaboration of national and international government bodies as well as private / public sector is also obtained.

The STQC Directorate has a network of laboratories and centers throughout India, under its control to carry out the business allocated to this directorate.

Functioning of the Directorate

The STQC Directorate liaises with the Electronics and Information Technology Industry, Industry Associations, etc.

• The Directorate functions on a user-friendly approach to meet the expectations of the community at large. All decisions are taken based on the advice of expert committees, consisting of independent experts drawn from stakeholder community and the feedback from the industry time to time.
• A responsive grievance redressed mechanism has been set up in the Directorate to address the grievances of its customers /citizens and is transparent in all its activities.
• The Directorate has an efficient mechanism for review and monitoring of its activities at periodic intervals.
